We humans like to imagine ourselves as the premier intelligence of planet Earth. After all, … we build ion propulsion drives, write symphonies, and manipulate Riemann curvature tensors while cows do not. Aside from the kingdoms of Monera and Protista, and many insecta orders, if we concentrated on it, we could wipe out almost any species we chose while they would be powerless to return the threat. Clearly indicative of our unique and superior emergent property neural network structures.

And yet, ….what if it turns out that premise isn’t true?

Imagine if some of our most closely held convictions and beliefs were found to be false. Imagine further if those revelations came from a voice never suspected.

I am a budding author and my first major work is now finished, and will be entitled The Song of Kiri. It will, I hope, be something unique for readers, presenting a sublime outlook on life from someone with an entirely different perspective (or at least I like to imagine so in my inflated mind 🙂 ). The first few chapters along with illustrations for the work are now up and available to interested readers. Other chapter excerpts along with a guide to the many other scientists who have worked with me to make this novel come to life will follow. Stay tuned, … hopefully good things to come.

(If you are a marine mammal biologist, cetacean specialist, or research scientist, I have created a new page (which I will be adding to slowly) detailing some of the unusual paradigms behind the novel. If interested, email me with your credentials or CV, and I will be happy to give out the password.)
